Nº001 — Why I started PrizmaCore

Why I started PrizmaCore

Mitchell Clarke, founder of PrizmaCore, Adelaide based AI and automation consultant.

PrizmaCore did not start because I wanted to build a tech company. It started because I had spent twenty years watching the same problems repeat across completely different industries.

Workshops where jobs lived on a clipboard until someone forgot to update it. Hospitality venues running on memory and verbal handoffs that broke the moment a shift changed. Registered Training Organisations trying to compress real trade knowledge into compliance frameworks written by people who had never done the work. The names on the door were different. The problems were identical. Good operators were drowning in admin and missed opportunities, with no system holding the whole thing together.

When generative AI hit a level that was actually usable inside a business, I went deep. Built tools. Broke them. Rebuilt them. Found applications for almost every part of running a small operation. Then I looked around and noticed almost nobody I knew was using any of it. The capability was sitting there. Nobody was applying it.

PrizmaCore exists to close that gap for Australian businesses. Adelaide based because that is home. Available nationally because the problem is national. Built around the way operators actually work, not the way software companies wish they did. The full version of that story is in the post why I built PrizmaCore.

Nº002 — Background

A background that does not come from a computer science degree

My CV is a deliberate mongrel. The mix is the point. Every domain on the list informs how I read a business and what I build for it.

Twenty years across hospitality

High pressure environments, staff under load, systems that either hold or fall over when service hits its peak. I have run shifts at volume, managed teams through busy nights, and seen up close what happens when a venue depends on memory instead of structure. Made the top 100 bartenders in Australia two years running, but the relevant part is the operational reality of running rooms full of people while the kitchen, the front of house, and the booking system all need attention at once.

Nightclub and bar management

Operations and people management at scale. Coordinating staff, suppliers, cash flow, security, customers, and the constant gap between what was planned and what is actually happening on the floor. Translates directly to how a workshop or service business runs on a busy day. The pattern is universal. Volume exposes structure, or the lack of it.

Mechanical and transmission work, plus other trade roles

Four and a half years in mechanical and transmission. Three plus more years across other trade roles. The discipline of diagnosis. A car comes in, the symptom is rarely the cause. You strip back the assumptions, follow the actual evidence, and find the real problem before you start changing parts. That is exactly how I approach a business. Most operational problems are not what the owner thinks they are. The diagnostic comes before the build, every time.

Inside a hospitality Registered Training Organisation

Three and a half years. Wrote two full nationally recognised courses from scratch. Mapped against current Training Package specifications, written to actually teach a learner rather than just satisfy an auditor. This is where the RTO course material service comes from. I have done the job that compliance managers are trying to hire out.

Four years in sales

This is why my consulting advice is commercially grounded rather than only technically correct. There is a difference between a system that works and a system that pays for itself inside ninety days. I default to the second one. My recommendations are filtered through what actually moves revenue or removes cost, not what is novel.

Audio engineering at SAE and a home studio

Several years on the side. Range. Precision work under headphones translates to precision work under a keyboard.

Coding HTML since 2006

Long enough to remember when the web was hand built. The technical fluency is not new. The AI capability is what is new, layered on top of two decades of building things. These days some of that building happens in the open — orchestrator.company is where the agent orchestration work lives, for anyone who wants to see it firsthand.

Nº003 — What we're built to do

What PrizmaCore is actually built to do

PrizmaCore is a boutique consultancy. Bespoke workflow systems, automation, custom software, and AI tools built around the way your business actually runs. Not generic SaaS plugged into more generic SaaS. Not a packaged product dressed up as a service. The work breaks into four buckets.

01

Diagnose

I pull your operation apart in sixty paid minutes and send you a written report by the next business day in a Workflow Review.

02

Automate

I build workflow automation in Adelaide and custom AI agents into your existing stack so your team stops doing work the machine should be doing.

03

Build

I ship custom websites and web and mobile apps with AI integrated only where it earns its place, not as a marketing checkbox.

04

Teach

I run one on one AI consulting in Adelaide so you and your team can run the system yourselves after I am gone.

The longer play

The longer play is sovereign Australian AI compute. Custom small language models running on hardware inside Australian jurisdiction. So your customer data and business intelligence stay where they should. Everything I build today is a step toward that.

Nº004 — How I work with clients

How I work with clients

01

No pitch

Every engagement starts the same way. A free twenty minute discovery call. No pitch. The point is to work out whether there is a real fit before either side commits anything.
02

The Workflow Review

If there is a fit, the standard first paid step is a Workflow Review at $495 AUD. Sixty minutes of hard questions. Full written diagnosis by the next business day. From there you either take the action plan and run it yourself, come back for done for you implementation, or move into ongoing consulting and training.
03

Direct contact throughout

Direct contact with me throughout. No account managers. No offshore handoffs. No layer between the work and the person doing it. That is part of what boutique means in practice.
04

Truth before comfort

I communicate straight. If something is not the right move, you hear so. If a recommendation is uncertain, I flag it. Truth before comfort. Useful before impressive.
